New South Wales Blues are the winners of the inaugural Champions League Twenty20 as they beat Trinidad and Tobago convincingly by 41 runs in the finals. Chasing 160, the Caribbean side could only manage 118 runs in 15.5 overs as they were bowled out by the Blues. Their openers departed early playing rash shots and then the wickets kept on falling at regular intervals which did not help the cause. Bravo, Ganga, Barath and Ramdin, all got the starts but did not take it further. A lot depended on Pollard (26) who also got going but a mis-hit sent him back. The Blues bowled pretty well with Lee leading the pack with a couple of early wickets. Clark ended with three while Smith and Hauritz bagged a couple. The Blues performed well as a unit through the tournament and the result went their way in the finals as well. Trinidad and Tobago will be quite disappointed as they were on a roll but just faltered on the final step. They did the hard work earlier but Brett Lee took the game away from them in the final overs of the first innings with his brilliant knock of 48 and came back to strike a couple of wickets with the ball.
